Customer Reviews
Been using this for 8 years mainly as external storage for photos stored in Lightroom, and the drive is still running fine. Can't ask for much more. I've already cycled through some other drives for time machine or other back up purposes, but the OWC one has been rock solid.
I would recommend this product to a friend!

Wow Casey we are glad to hear the Mercury Elite Pro Dual has lasted 8 years, while we do have some newer models available if you're ever interested in upgrading. We hope the enclosure continues to serve you well, thanks for being an OWC customer!
The backbone of my redundant in-house backups for my business.

I purchased this to replace the OWC Guardian Maximum RAID unit I had bought a few years earlier, primarily for use as an external drive for my 50K images - the main reason being it has the Thunderbolt connectivity I wanted to take advantage of on my iMac 2012 model. It has worked flawlessly in that time, and I am saddened by Apple's decision to kill Thunderbolt altogether (at least that's my interpretation of my new 27" iMac with Retina display having zero Thunderbolt ports). So now it's connected via USB 3, and still humming along like a champ.
I would recommend this product to a friend!

I'm glad to hear that the drive is working well for you. Just to clarify, Apple didn't kill Thunderbolt. They recently switched to Thunderbolt 3, which is present on the new iMac. It does use the USB-C type connection instead of the Mini DP type, but it is still Thunderbolt.
