Standard Return for Replacement Policy

OWC HAS SPECIFIC RETURN POLICIES THAT APPLY TO SPECIFIC PRODUCT TYPES. THIS IS OWC'S STANDARD RETURN POLICY FOR REPLACEMENT - PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE SECTION THAT YOUR PRODUCT FALLS UNDER!

OWC recognizes that life's not perfect and that sometimes things need to be replaced. OWC will be happy to provide a replacement for items when the item is defective within a 30 day period. After 30 days, the manufacturer warranty applies.

(OWC acknowledges that our customers are busy people. That's why OWC extends our customers the full 30 days from the original invoice date to contact us and obtain an RMA. By that same token, OWC wants to make sure that our customers have enough time to get their returns in order. Therefore, we accept product returns received within 40 days from the original invoice date with a valid RMA number. Remember that all internal hard drives carry an extended 90-day replacement policy to ensure your satisfaction!)

Should you encounter an issue with your purchase, please review all relevant literature, visit the OWC Tech Center http://eshop.macsales.com/tech_center/index.cfm for helpful videos and additional information on your purchase and, as always contact OWC Customer Service. We will be more than happy to troubleshoot your issue in order to gain a successful resolution.

If, upon initial opening of the package, the purchased product appears damaged or otherwise believed to have a technical issue or defect, contact OWC immediately. Upon OWC's determination, we will issue you an RMA to resolve the issue your are encountering. To ensure the best possible service, the product needs to be verified by an OWC Tech as defective or damaged in transit prior to a replacement being sent out. Such issues must be reported to OWC within 48 business hours.

OWC understands that sometimes our customers purchase something and decide they want or need something else. Should you need to return an item and wish to replace it with something else, please contact OWC by requesting an RMA for the original item/order you placed. You can do this by contacting OWC Customer Service within 30 days of your original invoice date through any of the methods provided at http://www.macsales.com/rma_request/.

If you wish to receive your new item before returning the original item, you may place a new order with us either online and request a refund for the original order online or with an OWC Customer Service Representative. All international and/or SPO shipping charges, including Returns for Warranty or Returns for Refund, are the sole responsibility of the customer.

For any replacements, OWC will always make all best efforts to replace any product found to be defective with an exact replacement. When a direct replacement for the exact model number or part number is not available, OWC reserves the right to replace with an equivalent or higher graded item. A refund will be offered if this turns out to not be an acceptable solution for one or both parties.

All product returns require a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA). You may obtain an RMA number by contacting OWC Customer Service within 30 days of the original invoice date through any of the methods provided at http://www.macsales.com/rma_request.

For Defective/DOA items (within 15 days of purchase) we cover shipping back to OWC for customers in the Continental US.

OWC's goal is the make any return process simple, hassle-free and speedy. To ensure that our customers receive such service, OWC kindly asks that all items shipped back follow these RMA guidelines:

Products that are not eligible for return and will be sent back to you at your cost and expense if received by us:
  • Any product not purchased from OWC;
  • Any product without a valid, readable serial number, including but not limited to products with missing, damaged,altered, or otherwise unreadable serial number;
  • Any product missing parts and/or components;
  • Any product from which the UPC code has been removed from its packaging;
  • Any product that exhibits physical damage; OR
  • Any product for which you have submitted a mail-in rebate.
Please ensure that all returns received by OWC:
  • Have the RMA # clearly marked on the outside of the returned packaging; AND
  • Have the original invoice inside the returned packaging.

Standard Return for Refund Policy

OWC understands that sometimes our customers need to return a purchase because their wants or needs change. We are happy to assist you with a return for refund of most items within 30 calendar days.

(OWC acknowledges that our customers are busy people. That's why OWC extends our customers the full 21 days from the original invoice date to contact us and obtain an RMA. By that same token, OWC wants to make sure that our customers have enough time to get their returns in order. Therefore, we accept product returns received within 30 days from the original invoice date with a valid RMA number. Remember that all internal hard drives carry an extended 90-day replacement policy to ensure your satisfaction!)

  • Orders cancelled after processing (order has been placed, invoiced and/or shipped) AND unopened items are subject to a 5% restocking fee. Goods only accepted within 30 days of the original invoice date. Excludes custom, bulk and Modbook orders. Refused shipments are subject to return freight charges.
  • Opened items are subject to a 15% restocking fee.

All refunds processed will be based on the following:

  • Goods received WITHIN 15 days of the original invoice date will receive a refund minus all applicable restocking fees (as noted above) of the invoiced purchase price.
  • Goods received AFTER 15 days, but WITHIN 30 days of the original invoice date will received the lesser of the current selling price on the day the item is delivered to our warehouse or the price originally invoiced.

Partial order returns on orders that were extended a shipping or other promotional discount will proportionally have such a discounts deducted from the refund.

All authorized refunds will be refunded via the method of payment originally billed. Please note that OWC will process all refunds within 48 hours of receipt of returned goods. All refunds are subject to the financial institutions' processing timelines. OWC is happy to answer any questions regarding our portion of the refund processing, but you may need to contact your financial institution for more details.

Freight is non-refundable. Customer is always responsible for return of the goods and selecting proper return shipping insurance.

For Defective/DOA items (within 15 days of purchase) we cover shipping back to OWC for customers in the Continental US.

Items returned incomplete and/or not in original condition may be subject to additional fees, or returned to the customer as non-refundable.

We are not able to offer refunds for displays, computers, clearance items, or opened/used media, consumables, or software. Restrictions apply to returns on special/custom orders and bulk orders. Please contact your OWC Sales Representative for additional details.

For internal hard drives, OWC is proud to offer an extended replacement window of 90 days. Once a return number has been issued and we receive the problematic drive back, you will get a brand new replacement drive, rather than a factory refurbished drive.

Used Mac Systems, Apple Displays, and Tablets

  • Return for refund within: 30 days

OWC individually inspects and fully tests every pre-owned Mac system, Apple display, and tablet to confirm full functionality.

All refurbishments and/or upgrades are performed by our Apple Certified Technicians. You may request a//n RMA for Refund within 14 days of invoicing. Please note that the invoice date is the date the order leaves our warehouse, not the date the order is received by you.

Units that are received back at OWC in the same condition sent originally and with all components within 23 days of invoicing will be refunded the original purchase price. Units received within 24-30 days of invoicing will be refunded the current selling price less a 15% restocking fee. Units received back after 30 days will be eligible only for warranty service as-eligible based on the specific unit���s warranty and will not be accepted for refund.

Within 15 Days of invoice date: Should any issue be experienced with a module in a system it is listed to be compatible with, OWC will - at no cost to you, issue a Ground Return Shipment Label that covers the return shipping of said product back to OWC. It will be your choice for OWC to replace the product via either advance ship or standard processing or request that OWC provide a full refund for the original product upon it's return to OWC. OWC covers the full cost of returning the product as well as the cost of shipping the replacement.

This return policy only applies to OWC Brand Memory products. All other memory purchased is subject to OWC Standard Return Policy and the original manufacturer's warranty.

Items covered by this policy must be returned to OWC within 30 days of the original ship date for this policy to apply. "Return" constitutes receipt of the product by OWC, and not the mere issuance of an RMA.

The following conditions are not acceptable for return, and will result in the merchandise being returned to you:
  • Any memory exhibiting physical damage
  • Modules that are missing the manufacturer label containing model number and part number

  • "Kit" Modules (which contain 2 or more memory modules packaged together) that are not returned as complete set

OWC offers our customers a Lifetime Replacement Warranty and 30 Day Money Back Guarantee on our standard OWC or NewerTech branded FireWire, USB2, DVI and HDMI cables. (This warranty applies only to cables purchases independently of any products and do not apply to cables that are included with another product as a bundled accessory.)

Return for replacement

Should any issue be experienced with a cable used with a system it is listed to be compatible with, within 15 days of purchase, OWC will - at no cost to you, issue a Ground Return Shipment Label that covers the return shipping of said product back to OWC. OWC covers the full cost to return the product via Ground Return Shipment Label as well as the cost of shipping the replacement via either USPS First Class or Fed Ex Ground. Expedited shipping can be purchased if faster delivery is required.

If you contact OWC with 15 days of your original invoice date, to request an return for replacement under the warranty service, it will be your choice for OWC to replace the product via either advance ship* or standard processing.

The OWC Lifetime Warranty does not cover damage that is the result of mishandling, incorrect installation, or incorrect use and is limited only to the OWC or NewerTech Brand Firewire/USB2/DVI/HDMI Cables

Returns for refund

Should you wish to return for a full refund, please contact OWC within 30 days of your original invoice date and request an RMA. Due to licensing and copyright laws, we do not accept returns on software once a package has been opened either in the case of a physical copy or when the serial key for a digital download has been provided (whether used or not). Defective software will be exchanged for the same title only within 30 calendar days from date of invoice.

After 30 days, the product manufacturer warranty is the only warranty in effect. Terms and conditions may vary by title or manufacturer. Please contact the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for additional information on the product warranty.

Mail-In Rebates

Any product offering a mail-in rebate is not returnable to OWC once the rebate has been filed. Be sure that the product is functional and that you intend to keep the product before sending in for your rebate. Products missing UPC codes or serial numbers from the box are NOT returnable. Only the product manufacturer can replace a defective item missing the UPC code. Please note return shipping is not included/provided by OWC.

Combo Specials

Combo Specials include two items that must be purchased together in order to receive a discount. Combo items may be returned for replacement within their applicable OWC Return Policy Period. If a Combo item is returned for a refund, the Combo Discount will be voided, and the discount amount will be deducted from the amount of the refund. (For example, if your combo discount was $5, and you return one of the combo items for a refund, the $5 will be deducted from your RMA refund amount.)

Out-of-Stock (Back-Order Items)

If OWC no longer carries an item that is sent in for replacement, or if that item is simply out of stock. You will be notified via email of two options:

  • OWC can send you a comparable replacement item; OR
  • OWC can issue you a refund at the current market value of the product. A current-market-value refund may not exceed the original invoice price. If the item is returned within 30 days of the original invoice date, a full refund will be issued.

Quantity Purchases

While OWC is more than happy to fill your order for a quantity of ten (10) or more of any given item in our inventory on a single purchase order, please understand that an order of that size, once purchase is completed, is automatically non-refundable. All other specific conditions related to the ordered item still apply, including any and all stipulations relative to any available replacement return policies. Consumable items are items such as Display covers, Printer Ink and Toner Cartridges, CD/DVD Media, Cleaning Supplies, Energy Drinks, Paper Products, Installation tools etc. that are consumed once they are used. The following conditions are not acceptable for return, and will result in the merchandise you have returned to OWC being returned to you:

  • Consumable items that have been opened AND
  • Consumable items lacking the original packaging.

Due to APC's return policies, products that have been opened cannot be directly returned to OWC. This applies even if the product is not defective and the reason for return is that the incorrect application size/capacity was purchased. Factory sealed product may be returned to OWC within the normal OWC 30 day period.

Intel® Boxed Processors

  • Return for refund within: 10 days (Unopened Merchandise Only)
  • Return for replacement within: 30 days (Warranty Merchandise Only)

Only UNOPENED Products are eligible for a refund and MUST be returned to OWC within 10 days of the original ship date for this policy to apply. Products covered by this return policy may only be returned for a replacement of the same or equivalent item within 30 days of the original ship date. OWC reserves the right to reject any Intel Boxed Processors found to be damaged directly by the customer and outside of the original Intel warranty. "Return" constitutes receipt of the product by OWC, and not the mere issuance of an RMA.

All damaged merchandise is subject to the manufacturer's original warranty, which can be found on Intel's website, http://www.intel.com/support/processors/sb/CS-009862.htm.

All returns made are subject to RMA guidelines outlined in OWC's Standard Return Policy guidelines.

Clearance/Bargain Items

  • All sales are final.

Clearance/bargain items are indicated with a "(*)" in the beginning of their description line. Such items are provided on a first-come first-served basis.

Clearance items indicated by the "(*)" are subject to special sale terms. Sales of clearance items are final. Where an OWC warranty is applicable and listed, items may be returned with an RMA to be repaired/replaced/refunded at OWC's discretion during OWC's warranty term. Items listed with a Manufacturer's warranty are subject to the Manufacturer's warranty fulfillment terms.

Clearance items listed are available for online/web purchases only, as orders are placed, the system live-updates to display only clearance items remaining available. Because clearance inventory is kept separate from our normal inventory, please allow an extra 1 to 3 days for the processing and shipping of an order, which includes clearance product(s). Bulk Items

  • Return for replacement within: non-replaceable

Bulk Items cannot be returned to OWC for refund or replacement service. Therefore, you are urged to carefully examine the box your bulk item ships in before signing for the package. Should you observe any damage to the shipping box, or if the wrong product was sent, you must refuse delivery while the shipping courier is still on the premises. The item will be returned to OWC and you will be refunded the full amount, including applicable shipping costs and tax.

Plasma TVs and accessories like mounting brackets and speakers relating to them are not returnable to OWC for any reason. Once purchased, all requests for replacement or repair need to go to the manufacturer directly.
