Orders are processed on a first-in, first-out based on stock availability. Most in stock orders with a valid form of payment provided ship the same day the order is placed if the order is submitted Monday through Friday prior to 5pm CST.

Other World Computing takes credit card and personal data security very seriously. All personal information provided to OWC is SSL 128 Bit encrypted to ensure it remains private. OWC does not sell, lease, or otherwise use information provided for any other purpose beyond the fulfillment of the order placed.

Credit card orders require the correct billing address this being where the statement for the credit card being used is received, for the order to be shipped. New ship-to addresses that are different from the billing address may require additional verification that will temporarily delay the order from shipping until verification is complete. New customers with an international ship-to or billing address may also be subject to verification processing. To ensure the quickest processing and shipping of your order, it is important to provide the most accurate information possible. Thank you!

Other World Computing does not charge your credit card until the order is ready to ship. Orders placed online and by phone are subject to the following steps:

Step 1: Order is placed and confirmed with Other World Computing.

Step 2: Credit card billing address is verified. If ship-to address is different from billing address, this address is also subject to verification. An incorrect or unverifiable billing or ship-to address puts the order into a hold status until address is verified.

Step 3: Authorization in the amount of the order is attempted using the credit card provided. No charge is posted at this time, but the authorization will reduce your credit line or debit line available. If the authorization is declined, order is put on hold until resolved. With a successful authorization.

Step 4: Order is now active for product allocation. Once all items ordered are in stock, they will be taken from stock and the order will be sent to invoicing/shipping for final processing and shipment.

Step 5: Your package is promptly and properly delivered as ordered to the address you have provided.

If you have an in store credit with Other World Computing, please note that it expires one year after issuance.


The following terms and conditions apply to orders placed with Other World Computing:

  • If you receive a shipment that is incomplete, incorrect, or physically damaged, this must be reported to Other World Computing within 48 business hours of shipment receipt. Contact Customer Service at 1-800-275-4576, Option 3, during the business hours of 8AM-8PM CST, Monday-Friday without delay!
  • Need to return, exchange or replace an item? If you receive an item from Other World Computing and would like to return it for credit, exchange, or replacement, you must obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA). To obtain an RMA #, you may fill out our online RMA Request form found here: https://eshop.macsales.com/Service/RMA_Request.cfm You may also call 1-800-275-4576, Option 2, during our customer support hours. Returns without a valid RMA number on the outside of the package will not be accepted by our warehouse!
  • OWC strives to offer the most competitive prices and shipping rates possible, and at times, also offers additional discounts on various products and shipping methods. Discounts are given based on certain qualifications being met, such as placing an order, ordering a certain combination of products or choosing a certain delivery method. A return of a product or product value that had been required for a discount given, will result in That discount being reversed.

Please note that it is possible for the discount being reversed to be more than the product being returned. In this case, you would simply receive no refund, have no in store credit value or have no upgrade value to apply to another product. Consult your invoice or a customer service representative to find out if you will have any discounts reversed before returning a product.

All orders shipping within Illinois or with a payment form with a billing address within Illinois are subject to 6.5% Illinois State Sales Tax. Other World Computing does not bill or collect Sales Tax outside of Illinois.

For all shipments outside of the United States, any Duties, Taxes, and/or Brokerage Fees are the responsibility of the billed to party and these fees where applicable may be paid at the time of delivery or will be billed by OWC after delivery.


The following terms and conditions apply to all merchandise returns:
  • Need a refund? Other World Computing will allow a return for refund of most items within 30 calendar days of the date your order originally shipped as long as you agree to pay a 15% restocking fee, less the original shipping charge. The refund amount will also be based on the lesser of the invoiced price or our current selling price on the day item is delivered to our warehouse. Items returned incomplete or not in original condition may be subject to additional fees or returned to the customer as non-refundable. Customer is responsible for shipping cost to return item. We are not able to offer refunds for displays, computers, clearance items, special order items, or opened/used software.
    • We assess this restocking fee because it costs time and money to process returns and Other World Computing works hard to provide quality products at the most competitive prices around to all of our customers. The restocking fee allows us to keep our prices low for everyone while still accommodating those who may need to return an item for a refund. Please be certain that you want an item before buying as it is not our preference to charge customers this fee. You also have the option to replace or exchange an item and avoid the restocking fee.
  • Changed your mind and would like something different? Other World Computing does allow the exchange of most items within 30 calendar days from the original shipment date. To arrange an exchange, please contact Customer Service to obtain a RMA#. Credit will be provided to a new order with items of your choosing based upon the lesser of either the invoiced or current selling price of the item(s) returned. Should the exchange order be less than the credit available for the item(s) returned, a refund of this difference less 15% will be refunded via the method of payment originally billed. Freight for the delivery method chosen by the customer will be charged on the new exchanged order. Item(s) being returned for exchange must be delivered to our warehouse with the correct RMA number within 30 days of the original invoice date, be complete with all original materials, and arrive undamaged in original received condition. We are not able to offer exchanges for displays, computers, consumables, clearance items, special order items, or opened/used software.
  • Having problems with an item and would like it replaced? Other World Computing will replace most products determined to be defective, regardless of the manufacturer, within 30 days of purchase. After 30 days, the manufacturer's warranty applies and you will need to contact the manufacturer for fulfillment of the warranty they provide. The customer is responsible for the shipping cost to return the item. In most cases, Other World Computing will pay to ship out the replacement item by either Airborne or Federal Express. Computers and multi-component products returned as defective will be repaired or replaced at the discretion of Other World Computing.

For your convenience, Other World Computing offers two methods for processing a replacement request.

  • Option 1 is a standard replacement RMA. You first send the item back to our warehouse. Upon its receipt, the RMA is processed so a replacement item can be shipped back to you. We will also test the item you have returned to confirm that it is defective. If it is not defective, you will be contacted to determine how we should proceed. If it is defective, a replacement will be sent right out.
    Note: When a direct replacement for the exact model number or part number is not available, Other World Computing reserves the right to replace with an equivalent or higher graded item. A refund will be offered if this turns out to not be an acceptable solutions for one or both parties.
  • Option 2 is for an Advance Cross-Ship Replacement RMA. This option is available for most items we sell and is provided at no charge. Other World Computing will immediately ship an identical replacement for the item being returned. This replacement option is not available for displays, computers, clearance items, special order items, items that do not have stock available, or for shipping destinations outside the United States.

The following conditions apply to Advance Cross-Ship Replacement RMAs:

  • Other World Computing must be provided with a valid credit card on which an authorization will be placed for the amount of the cross ship invoice. From the date the new invoice is shipped, you have 15 calendar days to return the item this new invoice provides replacement for. Items received back incomplete or altered from original condition may be refused or be assessed for service fees that will be charged to your credit card using the authorization from the cross shipment. Items received outside 15 days, physically damaged, or incomplete will be subject to our standard Return for Refund terms.
  • Prior to issuing an Advance Cross-Ship Replacement RMA, our staff will do their best to confirm the item is not operating correctly. As we are not onsite, it is not always possible for us to rule out all other possibilities. If we test an item returned from a cross ship RMA and it is determined to be not defective, a 5% handling fee and the cost of the shipping will be charged to your credit card using the authorization from the original cross shipment.
  • This option is only available for replacements of the same part numbered items and is not available with exchange requests.

Other World Computing provides the Advance Cross-Ship Replacement option as a service to our customers. As long as the item is returned properly and within the time specified, there is no charge for this service.

All return shipments subject to these terms:

  • Please have the RMA number that you are issued clearly marked on the outside of the package you are returning and include a copy of your original invoice inside the package with the item returned circled. Items must be returned complete, unaltered, and with original product materials and packaging to prevent the possibility of additional fees or possible rejection of the item. ALL RMAs must be returned to Other World Computing within the lesser of 15 Calendar days from the date RMA is issued or within 30 calendar days of the original item invoice date. After 30 days from the invoice date, item is subject to Manufacturer's warranty as Other World Computing has advertised.
  • When returning any item, the choice of return carrier is yours. Be aware that the shipping time involved varies with each carrier and choose accordingly not to exceed the return time allowed. You should also insure all shipments as Other World Computing is unable to process or reimburse you for a return shipment lost or damaged while in transit to us.

Again, make sure the RMA number is CLEARLY marked on the outside of the package and not blocked by a label or air bill. Shipments without a valid RMA number visible will be refused and returned unprocessed to return address. An RMA attempted for delivery outside the specified time allowed may be refused at the sole discretion of Other World Computing.

The following terms and conditions apply to refused orders:

  • All refused orders will be subject to a 5% restocking fee. Original shipping charges are not refundable. In addition, refused orders will be subject to additional shipping charges incurred in the return and retrieval of the shipment to Other World Computing. International orders that are refused will be subject to local taxes, import and export fees, as well as the 5% restocking fee and return shipping costs.
