Combines the speed and large storage space of a RAID 0 "Stripe" array & the safety of a RAID 1 "Mirror" array. RAID 0+1 takes two identical RAID 0 "Stripe" arrays and "mirrors" them as a RAID 1. For example, one set of two 500GB drives RAID 0 "Striped" together (forming 1TB), "mirroring" another set of the same 1TB configuration to make 1TB of storage space. |
