Newbie mistakes? |

I successfully use OS9 helper & XPOSTFACTO to get my 8500 (Sonnetg4/450 with 816MB RAM/ ATI Radeon card/ w/DLINK USB card) up and running with 10.2.2 and then I tried to use the Apple auot-update app to install 10.2.8 (whihc I thought I read in a feedback was o.k. to do) but it froze 85% of the way through the install. Now I can't get it to restart... goes through startup...loads all extensions and then when it should switch it goes to the "blue screen of infinite death" The real hitch is I can't get the system to reboot from an OSX Jaguar install CD, Norton UtilitiesCD, or OS 9 (or 8 for that matter). How do I get the system to reboot AT ALL? so I can reconfig the whole mess I made? |

Eeek, I hate this when it happens. It sounds like you're going to have to pull the battery and press the CUDA reset button (it's a button that on the 8500 is centered next to the AV socket and in line between the processor slot and the mic/speaker port) a few times. After you have done that try rebooting from any of your CDs, and don't forget to replace the battery. NarratorDan PS, the forums have changed to http://anybox.owc.net/forum/ |
