Hi I just recently paid to see if this forum had any solutions yet for the Audio In problem with Xpost where OS X doesnt have any working Audio In for Built In Mic Ports. My Os X is running great except for the Floppy and No Audio In Problem, but everything else is perfect. Anyone find any solutions yet for Audio In anything at all yet? Im trying to pass my video footage onto to the mac, but I need the Audio IN to record the sound part at least. IM running a PowerTower Pro 200 with Sonnet G3 300 and 876 mb Ram and two Scsi cdrw and cd drives with Jaz and GIG and also ATi Orion card and USB card as well with hub. |

Basically, someone just has to fix the drivers for the onboard audio on the old machines. They are open-source, so some of the necessary source material is there. There are several sound-related issues worth fixing, including the volume control as well as sound in. It's on my list of things to do, but I haven't spent a whole lot of time on it. |

There has to be some program or utility to trick the OS into thinking that the onboard is either a sound card or something. I mean if this old mac of mine can get OS X and run great on 300mhz Im asuming that somehow they get the audio onboard to run just like everything else. |

Yeah he has been working his other job, and before that tring to get firewire/USB booting and 60x support in Jag. I was hoping for a long tome for this too, but i learned to live without it, but i am in a different situation than you. No floppy support is an OSX thing, i believe www.opendarwin.org (or something allong those lines) has a hack that works. I love not using floppies, it help puch us to get a network in out house because none of the computers, except the one, were connected to the printer. |

Actually I wouldn't say Ryan was stumped. I would say he's busy with other issues. Marty |

I have a Power Tower Pro also and the only solution I have found is either a Griffin iMic or an M-Audio Revolution 7.1 sound card. I bought the M-Audio card after seeing it demoed at Macworld. They are $99 regularly but CompUSA was running a special where you could get it for $65. I don't know if that is still in effect though. I would not expect this to be fixed any time soon if at all. It has had Ryan, the OSXGURU stumped for a long time now. However, there is always hope that the next version of XpostFacto will fix the problem. |
