Version 2.2.1 would not install on 9.1 so the Radeon officialy won't work under pre 9.2.1 systems. But... when I was trying to upgrade 9.1 on my 9600 to 9.2.1 (In witch I succeded but its very unstable) I somehowe managed to install those drivers in 9.1 on an other partition. The installer told me that it wasn't possible to install but it did anyway??? When I started up with that partition THEY ACTUALLY WORK. I then copied the ATI extentions and the controlpanel to another new installed 9.1 and voila...no problems at all. So a Radeon 7000 does work in 9.1 but the installer normally refuses to install 2.2.1. |

>Why screw around with 9.2+? There are still some things that don't work in X or classic so I have to boot now and then in 9. This is where the radeondriverproblem showed up which I tried to tackle by installing 9.2. That's why,,, |

I have a newertech G3/500 upgrade. When I managed to install 9.2.1 and later 9.2.2 I couldn't copy file's from one hd to another. In fact when I tried it sayd that I was copying 1.7 GB and when I tried it again in 9.1 the same file was 2.03 GB. Also deleting files using the contextual menu locked up the mac so I had to make a hard restart. Choosing 9.2.1 as startupsystem when running 9.1 was not possible, the startup controlpanel crashed everytime I opened it. I had to disable 9.1 as startupsystem by removing the finder from the systemfile in order to get the mac started from 9.2.1 I don't know why this all is happening but it makes 9.2 on this machine useless. (The only positiv event is the ati 2.2.1 driver thing) |

Hmmm... 9.2.1 was unstable in your 9600? Do you use CPu upgrade? 9.2.1 was unstable in my 9600 (in which I use the original CPU), so i want back to 9.1. Any ideas? |
