I use a 7500 A/V with a Powerlogix 400/512 G3 CPU card, 576 MB RAM, 9.1 and 2.1 GB HD's. I recently installed OS 10.1 on a 6 gb partition of th 9.1 gb disk, it installed OK with XPostFacto. When I attempt to install the "Installer Upgrade", or the next OS apdate, 10.1.2, it goes OK until I get to the window where I'm told to select the destination disk. The disks are all grayed out, and I am unable to make a selection. I've tried using the USERS icon, also the Disk Utility from the OS-X Applications folder to ensure I have Administrator privileges- they both indicate that the user has administrator authority. I've gone through this a number of times, re-booted many times, etc., but I still get grayed out disks when the window for disk selection is opened. If anyone can offer any help with this, I'll be grateful- I'm stymied. Duane Bluhm |

Thanks to all who responded- I'd forgotten about installing the security upgrade, even though I'd had to do it only a few months ago when I installed OS-X on my 7300. Once the Security Update was in, everything worked OK. Thanks again, Duane |

If I remember correctly you need both a security and an installer upgrade before you can proceed to 10.1.2 Should be on the Apple site . one has to be installed before the other but I don't remember the order. I also ran into a problem that required manually running Disk Copy, the software would not automaticly launch it. If I can be of further help email me Good luck Jim fixitjc@allvantage.com |

There were some oddities in the sequence of updates required back then due to a security issue with Software Update. Why not 10.1.5? Also, have you examined the Apple Knowledge Base? You may have already installed an update that prevents 10.1.2 most likely. |
