My startup screen went straight to blue, welcome to X and the progress bar loading stuff. I cloned the disk (CCC) to a new drive, both master on a Tempo ATA 100. Now, when booting from the new drive I get a grey screen with a big Apple, pause, then a spinning grey disk for a few moments, then back to the process to which I am accustomed. The system is 10.1.5. I've been told that my new screen is associated with 10.2+. And that I may have a problem if I'm in less. But my S900 is as solid as ever. An academic question perhaps. But ought I be concerned? |

XPostFacto uses the same BootX for both 10.2 and 10.1. That's the code that shows the gray apple at startup. I think the spinning thing is displayed by the kernel which is different between 10.1 and 10.2. 10.1 shows the spinning thing at the top left corner and 10.2 shows it under the gray apple. An older version of XPostFacto would have the older appearance but not the latest fixes and stuff. |

Ryan made XPF do that, as that was the default behaviour under Jaguar. Don't worry it's normal. That's the only new OSX 10.2 feature you get though.... Marty |
