First thanks to joevt and mjoecups358 for their quick answers. My new question is "why won't classic work?" I have 10.1.5 installed and booting fine on 2 drives; I can boot into 9.1 installed on one of them. But launching an app. in 9.1 results in a nocando. Not a big deal since X is my main one. But occasionally troubling. Any thoughts on the matter? |

Nope, Joe from B.C. Good to see classic is working for you now. Launching a classic app in OS X is supposed to start Classic if it isn't already running but some people would prefer that not to happen. I'm not running OS X right now and I can't remember if there was an option to turn that off. I do know there is an option to make classic startup when OS X starts up, however. |

Wonderful help, joevt. Though not altogether clear what happened. First: no problem running apps. when booted into 9.1. I utilized the preferences panel to boot classic and it worked just fine. I launched several apps. and they appear ok. i quit classic via pp. Then I launched a classic app. And it launched classic and the app??? Thanks for your advice. Are you Joe from Vermont? I'm in Brattleboro. |

Do you have any problem running apps when you have booted into 9.1? Do you have any problem starting up classic in OS X using the Preferences Panel? When starting Classic in OS X, does the classic startup screen appear in a window with the icons of OS 9 extensions and control panels appearing one at a time along the bottom of the window? Are there any error messages? What exactly happens when you try to launch an app? |
