Hi Ryan: Let me first say thanks for all your hard work on XPF. It's given my 8500 lots of life. Of course, I've upgraded its CPU several times now. Anyway, your log regarding syncing disks and stuff, instead of syncing upon shutdown/while OS X is running, why not have your daemon keep track of what files need to be copied and append the list to a log somewhere and upon boot, just prior to using the helper drive, do the sync? |

If I could do that, then we wouldn't need the helper drive at all :-) The problem is that you can't read anything from the Firewire drive until the helper drive is finished its work. So once you can read from the Firewire drive, it's too late to update the helper. |
