Got a 40 gig seagate ATA that has been partitioned for the 8 gig thing. But on boot up in X sometimes the 2nd partition wont mount, I have run the permission utility and fscked the disk but it wont mount. If I boot into 9 it show up on the desktop then restart back to X it mounts and everythings OK... running a 9600 G4/800 1gig and a Trio card. This seem to have started when I upgraded to 10.2.8 |

Was the 40 gb seagate ATA drive partitioned and formated with OS 9 utilities and disk drivers? I've heard Old World Macs are finicky about OSX utilities formatting, partitioning, and disk drivers. Also, is your PCI card deeply seated or have you tried switching PCI slots? |

There may be a problem with a couple things. What's in /Volumes directory? And have you got Disk Warrior 2.1 that you can run? |
