I'm on a power mac 8600 w/ a G3 400 powerlogix card 512 ram. I have 10.1.5 installed and trying to get my scanner to work (in OSX). Under the apple system profiler the scanner shows up several times ? Is there a fix for this ? It's a older UMAX Scanner I have the external SCSI set to 6. I'm at a loss. I'm trying to use VueScan but it so far is not working properly. Any help would be great. Thanks. Dave. |

I will look into this. I happen to have a Umax scanner as well, but haven't hooked it up in a long time. The driver for the external SCSI is installed by XPostFacto, so it is something that I ought to try to fix. |

I am having the same problem. I have a PM 8500 G3/500 card with a UMAX Astra 610S attached. When I run the profiler, the scanner comes up 5 times in the chain. I haven't been able to use the UMAX software in classic mode to scan. I tried using Vuescan previously and I every single time I tried to install it while running it OS 9, my system crashed so I stopped trying. I have been able to scan while running directly from OS9 using the UMAX software. I thought that I read on the UMAX website that there software does not work with OS X even while using classic mode. I have been trying to get some help to no avail. I'll keep looking Jack |
