MESH: 0 0 runDBDMA - Arbitrate/Reselect problem |

Periodically, this message is written directly to the screen when I'm working. I think it's an open firmware thing, since it writes over any window and appears in the white on black text that the verbose boot sequence does. It shows up in the system logs, too. In the system logs, it shows this error as being authored by mach_kernel. It doesn't cause problems, but it makes me wonder if something is going wrong. Should I be worried? Thanks! I do get these errors in the log but they don't fill the screen under 10.2. |

The error message itself appears to indicate some kind of transient error on the SCSI bus--I get them periodically as well--it doesn't seem to be serious. The fact that they get written to your screen (rather than just the log file) is an issue with the ATI Radeon 7000 card. It seems to happen when you boot in verbose mode (at least, that is when I have seen it). I have had reports that Mac OS X 10.2 fixes this, but I haven't tried the Radeon 7000 with 10.2 yet. |
