Chaps, OS X 10.1.5 has been up and running on my PCP thanks to XPostFacto for a few weeks now.. The slow video was beginning to annoy me so I purchased a Radeon 7000. Installed the July 02 drivers first, placed the card in --> everything came up ok but the silly mouse pointer won't move! I.e the mouse actually moves invisible and you can click on things but its a guessing game since the black pointer won't follow! Any ideas? I've installed the latest XPostFacto drivers as well with no luck. |

The Radeon 7000 is a difficult card to get working correctly. I would suggest that if you didn't install the drivers from the CD PRIOR to running the July 2002 update, you should perform the installations in that order. You may be missing one or more pieces from the CD install that the July '02 updater doesn't provide. If you did install from the CD, followed by the July '02 update, then you should just do the installation process again under OS X. |

Perhaps this is what you need to do. I don't remember if this is still required with the latest ATI drivers but at one point a few months ago with a previous driver revision ATI had instructions that stated that you needed to copy the ROM Xtender file from your OS9 system folder into your OS X installation. It was supposed to correct a problem with artifacts on the screen when dragging the mouse over the IE browser. I don't remember where but the instructions should still be available from ATI's updates page. |
