Hi, Thnx again. i will send tis to realtec, and ask for a update. I hope you put your results on this place. The funny thing is, I can print with both cards in use, one connected to the internet and the other printing. My mom told me live is not at easy at it seems. rene |

No. There are only the RealTek ones. All other vendors just put their version resource and package it. If you want to be on the save side: buy a card with an Apple supported chipset (DEC, Intel, etc. - take a look into /System/Library/Extensions). After trying 3 different 8139 cards I have given up and I am using now a DEC21 based card (which does only 10 MBit, but this 100% stable). I had to disable the internal ethernet (Umax S900 10MBit) because traffic there lead to loosing the whole IP stack... So I suggest that you buy two supported cards or look for one of those 4 Port cards which where used within the Apple Servers. I am going to switch to the Intel Pro 100S (8255 chipset) as soon as my order arrives, hope I could tell then more... Michael |

Thnx for your reply I did try the same subset. I found out the card is working only when he is at top of the 'configuration networkports' ( have dutch system, so i did try to translate ). Then it works. Its resonable fast so far as i can see. But i cannot use them both at the same moment, it is one or the other. Netstat see all the ip addresses, even behind the other card. I want to use my comp also as a router. About AFP yes your right but it did work when i use a IP adress and not the name of the comp, which show up correctly in the finder. But i keep trying. Maybe more suggestions? Are there other drivers on the net, which i can try out? Rene |

Try to make a new location and set both interfaces into the SAME subnet... Also: if you have a 8139 Card there is a good chance that you will have problems using AFP via TCP/IP. This seems to be a bug with the Realtek-Driver and the AFP daemon.... Michael |

How can i get rid of those 192 and their submask settings? No fire wall or whatever is running. |
