Hi, When there is a powerfailure or when you ( cold ) bootup, the computer will start in macos9 and of course i have to reboot into X. Did someone get it to work to boot straightly into X? Someone have some suggestions for now? Is it possible to build applescript into XPostFacto so we can write a script that opens XPF and choose a drive and restart, Ryan? |

you can always use SCSI Probe to mount SCSI disks that don't mount automatically for some reason. thats what i usually do... |

Thanks, that you will make this into XPF. I did have no problems, but at one day it starts, or better it stops. Confusing? Ok Starts the problems and Stops X-Booting. Something to do with the firmware? |

I frequently have this problem of an unwanted boot into OS9. Often it also doesn't mount the drive (external) that the OSX system is on. This sometimes becomes a real catch-22 situation since I usually have to do 2 sucessive boots into OSX before it will recognize the internal network. Jiggling and tightening the SCSI cables usually makes it work eventually. My "final solution" to this is going to be to put my OS9 system onto an external 2 gig drive I have lying around, so I can just turn it off until the boot-up starts. |

Yes, I really should build some Applescript support into XPostFacto. I'll put it on the list of features for version 3. The computer should actually boot into Mac OS X even on a cold boot, but there are cases where this doesn't work--the reasons aren't always clear. |
