Sonnet Tempo ATA100 Firmware 2.3.5 |

Just applied firmware upgrade 2.3.5 to my Sonnet Tempo ATA100 card. XPostFacto gives the following message (disk name) is not bootable (unable to find open firmware name). I called Sonnet and was advised that this looked like an XPostFacto issue. Can anyone suggest a solution? At this point I can no longer boot OS X (or reinstall for that matter). |

Sonnet has released Firmware 2.3.9 for the Tempo ATA100. Let's see if that helps! http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/13811 |

Mikem, At the risk of sounding like a newbie with a 'me, too' comment... Could you send that firmware update for the ATA100 card to me, too? :-) Stephen |

Sonnet supplied me with firmware version 2.3.8. If you would like to give that a try, please post your e-mail address. |

If, when you boot in verbose mode with the 2.3.5 firmware, you see a message about a "66MHz slot", you should contact Sonnet customer support and let them know about it--they may be able to help. |

It looks as though the new XPostFacto version is doing what I thought it would do, but the Tempo ATA/100 with the new firmware still isn't working correctly on the older machines. I will investigate and see what I can come up with. |

I have uploaded a new version of XPostFacto that may fix this problem. I'm not sure if it does, because I don't have a Sonnet ATA/100 card handy to test with. So if you do try this, I would appreciate it if you could let me know whether it works. Here is the URL: http://eshop.macsales.com/OSXCenter/XPostFacto/Download/XPostFacto2.2.3b1.sit |

Just a note about the firmware update. I too tried it and had the same issue. I was however able to reinstall the previous firmware (2.2.3) and all is well. I am running 10.1.5 but am hoping to install 10.2 when Ryan posts his fix. If anyone needs the previous version I will send it via email to any who ask. It is not on Sonnet's site anymore. I may try to put it on my iDisk public folder (hope thats OK with Sonnet) http://homepage.mac.com/dohc76/FileSharing2.html |

I'll need to take a look at your Name Registry to see what the new firmware is doing that confuses XPostFacto. Could you send me an e-mail, and I'll send you a program you can use to save your name registry values (to e-mail back to me). (I may also need to take a look at your XPostFacto Log file). |
