I recently installed 10.1 on my 8600 with a xlr8 G4 mach carried mpe 450. I used xpostfacto 2.2.3. Everything seems to be working fine. Haven't tried sound but original cd doesn't work but firewire cd-r/w does. My problem is that when I tried to run a classic program 9.1 boots from another ATI hard drive, you can see it loading extensions but then nothing, it never engages. I have openned xpostfacto in os10 and installed the extensions as suggested but nothing. Could it be the ati harddrive, even though if I open a QT movie it opens QT5 from 10.1 and is fine. I will try to install 9.2 using os 9 helper to see if that helps and I will put 9.1 on a partition of the same hard drive that 10.1 is on and see if that heops. One other question. I can't seem to log onto the eithernet using explored in 10.1 even though I have set up the tcp/ip in the intranet. Help please. Also THANKS for making 10.1 and 2 available for use on older macs. |

When you try to load Classic, do you end up with any error messages in your system.log or console.log (located in /var/log)? One thing to remember is that once Classic has finished launching, it is normal for its icon to disappear from the Dock. But the System Preferences application should indicate that it is running (and Classic apps should work). |
