Okay, Maybe there is a SCSI setting wrong. What drive should be terminated? The Quantum Atlas V on SCSI ID 0 or the CD-Rom Drive on SCSI 3? No other Drives installed... Chris |

I understand about the SCSI ID's not being at issue here as long as they are both unique. The Apple CD-Rom's that I have tried have all been terminated. The HD that is currently insatalled does NOT have termination. Let me ASK this. In a normal EXTERNAL SCSI chain the last device in line is always terminated. On the INTERNAL SCSI we have the blue flat cable that comes from the Mother Board and goes to the CD rom and the the HD and then to a another device IF installed. So in this case, should the HD be terminated or the CDRom? Or doesn't it matter? Chris |

The last device on the chain needs to be terminated - either on the drive, or with a terminator on the cable. The SCSI ID's don't have anything to do with termination, or the order on the cable. If the CD is the last device, it shoudl be terminated. If the Hard drive is, then it should be terminated... |
