I've got a 7600 Mac, 256Mb memory, that does the following with an xpostfacto prepared HD (10.1.5, 9.1) starts up OK, happy mac shows up waits about 25 seconds reboots repeats This happens even if I hold down the option key to force boot into 9. I've put this hard drive in another 7600, and the computer will boot to 9.1 just fine, and will boot to 10.1.5 using xpostfacto 2.23. The hard drive used to work just fine on this computer, and I even used with Carbon Copy Cloner to create 5 other bootable 10.1.5 drives, which I tested in this same computer. Now none of them boot the computer in 10.1.5 or 9.1. Does anybody have an idea what might be going on, or how I might fix it? Thanks!! |

Well it sounds like you've ruled out the hard drive, so what's left? Try shooting the PRAM. Whack the CUDA. Juggle your DIMMs. Yank your PCIs. Standard black magic operating procedures... |
