Upgrading a 7500/100 to G3/400 works ok. I am trying to install OS X on here. I have done this twice before but since the update of XPostFacto to 2.2.4 I have locked up 2 machines that will not even boot. It will start up ok but when I select the drive to install to and click the install button, it goes to restart but I only get 1/2 of the startup bong and it stops. Have any idea why 2.2.4 doesn't work here? I can't remember which one I used before but I believe it was 2.2b2 |

I would imagine Jaguar is running slow because your L2 is not running. You needto get the cache controller from powerlogix and then it will be running great. You might be in the "boot from os9cd and start over mode", but once you get back to jaguar try the powerlogix software to enable L2. |

Things have gotten worse here! I went back to XPF 2.2.2 and have actually installed 9.1 and 10.2 Jaguar. Jaguar runs really slow so I try to reboot into 9.1 to use L2Cache Config, which it writes, then I set up start up volume back to 10.2 and restart. I again only get 1/4 - 1/2 the start up bong and nothing. This startup problem must be with the SCSI drive or pram or something but I can't zap the pram because of the start up issue. I removed the USB card, wiggled the ram, moved it to A1 and B1, wiggled the processor, and so on. This drive is an IBM UltraStar, Ultra3(U160). Model # DDYT09170, LVD/SE |

I also cannot install osX on my PTP using 2.2.4 OR 2.2.3, but i can use 2.2.2 without any problems. |
