I use a PPC 8500 with G4/ 400 joecard from Metabox, 320MB RAM, formac pro media 3D Pro PCI.card, combo card with firewire and USB-ports. OS 9.1 is running from the internal SCSI-bus #0, OSX 1.5 from another physical drive on internal SCSI-bus #1. There are two problemes now : 1. My computer always boots only from OS 9 using restart in XPF. Only while OSX is running I can use restart in the menue. If I start the computer several minutes later, it is always only booting OS 9.1 2. Since I updated to OSX 1.5 the computer does not remember System Preferences for Monitos and Startvolume. I don´t know, if I am very stupid...? Sorry for my bad English, Im from Germany |

Thanks fore your answer, gchron, but it dint help. At what time I have to press command-option-O-F ? Booting OS 9.1 ore OSX from XPF? When I try to set Startvolume under OSX after I have choosen the OSX-Volume I want to fix it with the lock, the computer dials by itself an internetconnection. I can only recognize it at the LEDs from USB-modem not at the icon of Internetconnection as usual. It needs a long time until it is locked the System does not ask for my Privilegs to install software. Where can I find "Repair Privileges"? |

Never mind about your English I am from Greece of example. Well it seams that your system does not set the open firmware to boot from X. Try to reset the open firmware by pressing the command-option-O-F when I had the 10.1.5 I did not seen any problems with the monitors setting. The nomitor setting is saved at a file at your personal preferences. Try to use an Apple utility called Repair Privileges. if it is a permition proboblem. Also try to test your disk. The easy way is to test it from OS9 or if you have an OSX disk repair program. As for Sound, the problem is that we do not have 100% compatible drivers for our sound card. You can see that you cannot record something from your microphone. The only sollution for that it to connect a set of speekers and control them from their internal volume control. |
