This is not an XPF question, but a question about file sharing in osX, jaguar 10.2.2 to be exact. I have 6 computers on a mac network and have one of the computers set up as a file server running 10.2.2 client software. Problem is that when creating new folders the permisions are defaulting to "read only". Depending on who you talk to this is either a bug or a feature in 10.2.2. To me and most others it is a real PIA!!! Here is a link to a discusion... http://discussions.info.apple.com/WebX?14@219.g5RCaBLzdrV.8@.3bb9f811/0 while this pertains to 10.2.2 server software, the problem is also in client as well. You being the osX god, i am wondering what your thoughts are, and have you any idea how to best address the issue? I am thinking there must be someway to log into a trerminal window and change a setting from assume folder privileges/no to assume folder priviledges/yes. Anyone have any thoughts? |

The update to OS X Server 10.2.3 claims to address this issue. Don't know if 10.2.3 Client also solves the problem. |
