Sound Bug Fix? |

Greetings to all. Okay. I love OS X, and I will be getting Jaguar soon once I recieve my PowerLogix 400mhz Processor Upgrade, 160mb RAM, and a ATI Radeon 7000 Mac Edition. 'Twill most likely max out the system. The sound bugs are starting to annoy me- those about the not being able to set sound globally, and the fact that I can NOT mute the internal speaker (that is the most annoying). First off. How can I mute the speaker? Second. I think the chip is a Crystal 4820. It supports SRS. The control panel does NOT show this- how can I enable it? And third. I believe that XPostFacto installed something to do with the soundcard (extensions?). can I DELETE the files dealing with the soundcard from XPostFacto- and restore if anything from OS X- since my chip is more "newworld" the "oldworld" and might work alone with the native drivers from MOSX? Is this possible- and how would I go about doing so? Thanks Keven Tipping |

What kind of computer do you have? XPostFacto doesn't load any sound related extensions or patches. You can check the list of installed extensions by using the Install Extensions menu item in XPostFacto, select a drive to install them to (you don't need to select your OS X drive). Then, open the drive in the Finder and you'll see a folder called System. Look in there to see the extensions. Also, you can look at the source code at http://www.opendarwin.org/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/proj/XPostFacto/ |
