Can anyone successfully boot X w/ this combination? I've tried this card in both a 7500 and a 7600, and neither one will boot X, either from install CDs or from installed X that I was able to do w/ an XLR8 G3-500. The G3 works fine for me w/ X on these mac models. I've tried every throttle option in XPF and have requested Ryan give more throttle options hoping that will work. On a similar note...has anyone had a problem booting X w/ the Powerlogix G4-800? |

I have the Sonnet card in a 7600 booting just fine. AND to the other poster, I have a 29160n and have never had a problem. However, I am a stickler for good cables and proper termination. OS X is very finicky about termination. |

cschmidt, I think all along my problem has been my Adaptec 29160N, even w/ their latest drivers. I should receive the Apple/Atto UL2D I ordered t'morrow as a pull from OWC. |

Okay.....I have the Sonnet Card in a PM7300 booting up just fine. I am using the Xpostfacto 2.2.7 to do it because of mu Apple/Atto UL2D card driving my 18 gig UW drive. But yes I can boot and it seems to be really stable. Of course I've NOT loaded all the Microsoft Office suite like I have in the past. I really think some of the updates for THOSE programs over-wrote some of my extensions/preferences and left my system very unstable. |
