Can anyone tell me why my internet connection speed in OS X is always 26K while the speed in OS 9.2.2 is always 38K? |

The other thing you can do is use the same modem script you have been using and connecting faster with. Move or copy the old modem script from /YourOS9HardDrive/System Folder/Extentions/Modem Scripts/ to /OSXDrive/Library/Modem Scripts and select it with the Network pane of system prefrences. |

various modem scripts can change reported/real performance... Are these speed from actual tests or is the software reporting this #. if the latter try some real tests and see if they are different as reported. I doubt it. Marty |

Hi Ken882, I live in rural Canada, so the only available internet connection is via 56K modem. Around here 38K is fast. I am puzzled though, by the change in speed on otherwise identical hardware when the operating system changes. In my city office, everything works normally on a high-speed cable modem. |

Hi, Both of those speeds seem rather slow. What is the maximum connection speed of your modem? 56K? |
