I'm about to install jaguar on my powermac 7300 with a g3-400 card and a radeon mac edition in a pci slot. can i expect a speed improvement over 10.1? and what about quartz extreme? can i enable it? I dont have an agp slot in this machine. |

I have a 7300 with a Sonnet G3 300 card (hopefully soon to be G4 800) and a Radeon Mac Edition. I put off installing 10.2 on this machine for a while and I wish I hadn't. It's a great improvement. It's easy to enable Quartz Extreme with PCI Extreme. It generally works great but I have found it is sometimes better to turn it off eg. while playing QuickTime movies! |

Jag definitely feels snappier than 10.1.x. I have Quartz Extreme enabled on my Radeon card - there is a freeware app called PCI Extreme that will enable it for you. |
