I'm very happy to report I have successfully installed 9.2.2 and 10.2.3 on my 7300/180 PC Compatible/NewerTech G4/350 1M Cache/288M RAM. I had a problem when first attempting to install due to bad media in the drive I was using. After switching to another drive everything went VERY SMOOTHLY. And since the L2 was enabled the machine runs OS X and Classic very stably at reasonable speed. FIRST I don't know how to enable the printer I was using under OS 9 in OS X. It doesn't come up in the Printer List. Is it supported and if so, what do I need to do to get it on the list? SECOND will more RAM truly improve the speed of this machine? THANKS VERY MUCH. XPF is great! |

See serial printer post on the first or second page of the forum for a possible gimp-print/CUPS future solution. |

There is another string dealing with this. Apple abandoned the serial printer port support (the printer port is a serial port not ABD) ABD supports your input devices like Keyboard and mouse. I would love an easy workaround too had to give up a real workhorse printer. |

I have a Power Mac 7500 that I just changed the logic board in to a 7600 running 10.2.2. If anybody knows of an osx diver for the SW2500 please let me know! |

I was never able to get the 2500/2400 apple printer to work, I don't know that ADB printers work under OSX. This is a real hastle if you need to print. Ram helps alot! I have 664MB and that is good for me but befor i upgraded i have 408 and i have 40mb free. OSX handles its memory diferently and it conserves memory as you start to run out so the more the better! |
