Some of you may have noticed that XPostFacto 3 isn't out yet :-) And I haven't been very active in the tech forum for a while. So I thought I would explain. I am actually only a part-time OS X Guru. I usually try to hide that fact through amazing feats of efficiency, but occasionally things just catch up with me. In my "day job" I am a lawyer for the Government of Canada (specifically, the Department of Agriculture and Agri-food), and I usually have a pretty accommodating schedule (I work 3 days a week). But it is the kind of job that occasionally gets a little demanding, and I am in the middle of a ton of work that is going to last another couple of weeks. So my OS X Guru output is going to be diminished for a little while. So, my apologies--I will be back up to speed eventually. In the meantime, I have made some more progress in my few minutes of spare time on the Twentieh Anniversary Mac. In fact, it seems to work pretty well now, with the exception of the backlight. OK, that's a pretty big exception, but I think it is solvable. |

I want to add my thanks also and to ask if you have an estimate of when XPF 3 will be out. I have a feeling I will need it soon. |

Now I understand how this group, project, whatever got it's name. If I remember a bit of my Latin it means "OSX after the fact". I have a 6400 with a G3 upgrade and am anxiously waiting to run my (inhand) OSX install CD. |

I too am most thankful for your work here too! I am also pleased as a Chartered Surveyor and Incorporated Linguist to find other "old World" professionals using Macs - and to such excellent effect. Thanks to you, I am rescuing old machines and giving them new life - whcih without your help would be impossible! And i agree there should eb an apprentice Guru to give you time off - and whenever you need it! Mark Willan |

Wow, amazing. You know, the main reason of my interest in OWC is your work. Without this I'd never pay much attention to OWC, because even very low prices lose their attraction considering the outragously high FedEx costs from USA to good old Europe where I live, plus customs plus VAT. But a shop where this kind of Guru is involved, is something special and deserves to be supported. So I think they should spend some extra money to put a talented Apprentice Guru at your side as soon as possible. This work is important for their business and they should make sure that it continues without you getting overworked. Thanks! Richard |

I never really pictured you as a lawyer working for the Feds but always wondered what your mainstay was. Finally the Liberals are paying someone that is actually doing something useful! Nice to know that a fellow Canuck writes this awesome software. Take all the time you need Ryan ... my mac is humming to the tune of Jag right now thanks to you :-) |
