I am running a 8600 PMAC with a Newer G3 300MHZ accelerator card (about 500 Mgs of RAM). For the most part everything runs ok however recently I have observed the following. After booting into OS X an alert box(resembling the sound control panel) briefly flashes onto the screen for a few seconds after which time my keyboard modifier keys fail to operate correctly -the contextual menus no longer work with the control key and I am unable to use the shift key to make multiple selections. I am using an apple extended keyboard plugged into the ADB port of my computer. Any ideas how I can fix this annoying recurring problem? |

I think I solved the problem: My keyboard was plugged into the ADB port of my AppleVision 1710 monitor. When I plugged it directly into the 8600's ADB the problem dissapeared. |

I will try to get hold of another keyboard/mouse in the next couple of days and see if the problem persists. |

That is odd--I have not had a similar report before. Do you have anything else attached to the ADB chain? It might be interesting to borrow a different keyboard and/or mouse to see whether the problem relates to specific hardware or not. |
