No XPF control panel |

I can use a copy of Xpostfacto only once (usually), but the next time I try to use it, I only get the pull-down menu headings, no control panel. I am using a 7300/200 with a powerlogix G3/400/512 card. I have OS-10.1.5 installed on a partition on an 18 GB SCSI HD. When I am able to boot up, it runs fine. Can you offer any help or suggestions? Thanks, Duane Bluhm |

bralston- Per your tip, I ticked the box for "install old world firewire support" with os 9 helper, it installed the patch, and the problem seems to be completely solved. I can even use XPF 2.2.5 now for the first time. Thanks very much for your help. Duane Bluhm |

Did you upgrade to 9.2.2 using my OS9Helper utility? If so, make sure you select the "Install OldWorld FireWire" support selection. There is some weird timing issue that this resolves...I have had the same problem. -Ben www.os9forever.com |

I now don't get the control panel window even once- only the header menus. When I close the partly-opened XPF from the header menu, I get a message saying "the Finder has quit" I have downloaded new copies of XPF several times, no change. I have also rebuilt my desktop(s) several times- no help. I have used only Stuffitt Expander on them, will try another utility. ?? Any help appreciated--DB |

Try downloading XPF again? Different Stuffit? Weird. Marty |

This happened top me after "upgrading?" to OS 9.2.2. It had me really worried for a while. Rebuilding the desktop using Diskwarior or by holding down the Apple + option keys durning startup until you get the"Do you want to rebulid the desktop file?" message fixes this for me. PS. Im not so sure OS 9.2.2 was a good idea on my OLD World machine. As there are other issues as well but given time I suppose those will find fixes as well. I rarely use anyway as I live in OSX these days. |

Yes, I have only tried to use XPF in 9.2.2, never in OS-X. Sometimes I don't get the control panel window even one time. Perhaps something is corrupting the OS-X file- I can download a new copy from the OWC web site, and usually it will work once- but not always. Then I only get the menu headings at the top of the window. Any help appreciated- Thanks, duane bluhm |

This is normal behaviour for XPF UNDER OSX. Only under 9.x does XPF show it's control window. So, do you mean that even under OS 9 you only see the window once? Marty |
