Hello all I just acquired a 9600 and a Sonnet G4/450. I have not problems installing 10.1. I do have problems with 10.2. After completing the install the Mac locks up with the code Sh-2.05a# during the reboot. It breaks through the grey background. In verbose mode it comes up right after "Starting Virtual Memory". Any ideas on what is hanging it. Oh I have 832 MB of RAM, a Rage 128 from a B & W, and I have installed onto a 9GB Seagate with nothing else on it. |

Well turns out I was able to get 10.2.1 working on the 9GB drive. I used a newer install CD . I was using 10.2 and finally got a 10.2.1 . Installed beautifully. Very happy camper. Thanks again Mr. Rempel and OWC. |

Turns out that neither 10.1 nor 10.2 liked by Seagate 9 gigger. I put it on an Apple 4 Gigger and atleast 10.1.5 is very happy. I will try 10.2 later. I am using the 9 GB drive for OS 9 as it doesn't have any problems running on it. Thanks again. |

Thanks a lot rob a.k.a. rob284. I had forgotten I was in UNIX. Anyways thanks again, your post has gotten me a little closer to what my problem is. I will try reading more of the posts to see if someone else had a similar memory exception error. |

I'm new to this game, but in (laboriously) going through previous messages I believe there was a post by someone who had this problem. I think the answer was just to type in "exit". You can be in single-user mode, and get that string as a prompt. Single-user is an option in XPostFacto. Sorry if I'm wrong! rob |
