When I try to run grabL2cachesetting on OS 9.2.2 on a Mac 7300 I get an error message "7" (privilege violation error). I am trying to enable the backside cache on a G3/500 mhz/1 MB PowerLogix cpu. Also, on another 7300 I get the same error trying to enable the 512 back saide cache from a Sonnett G3/500mHz cpu. How do I fix this. I have used this software before and it always worked without a hitch. I am using L2CachConfig version 3.3. Perhaps this work on OS 9.1 but not OS 9.2.2? |

Yes, it's a problem with 9.2. There is a workaround in the L2CacheConfig documentation for this. |

I think 9.1 might be the ticket... Some people have had luck using the sonnet cache enabler instead. Powerlogix has a cache enabler also, but it made my system flakey, so I had to switch back to Ryan's L2cacheconfig for reliable operation.... Marty |
