I've been booting up in verbose mode. I've seen on every bootup that the foolowing extensions are invalid or not compatible: AppleCurio4K78.kext oldworld.support.PatchedIOSCSIDrive oldworld.support.PatchedIOSCSIDriveType5 Can they be removed? I'm wondering if I can will it speed up my startup since it will not try to load them. |

Yes, you can remove both these extensions if your running 10.2.x They are in /System/Library/Extensions and are called PatchedIOSCSICDDrive.kext PatchedSCSIDeviceType05.kext This will remove the annoying messages from the verbose boot listing but I doubt if you'll notice any decrease in boot time. |
