The computer is a Beige G3 with an OWC 500 MHZ zif. OS X installs OK and is working. After switching to OS 9 I can't get it to go back to X v 10.2.2. Using Apples utility for switching the start up dosn't work. Using Xpostfacto all seems to be going OK. I get the grey screen and then get the words,CAN'T OPEN CAN'T OPEN CAN'T OPEN listed across the first 2 or 3 lines and then reboots into the version of OS9 loaded on the second partition. OS X is loaded on the first partition of a IDE drive within the first 8 gigs. Here is the Xpostfacto Log Reinitializing ... Perhaps it is the old IDE speed negotiation bugaboo. I do not trust the built in IDE controller in the Beige G3 (or B/W). If you have a PCI based one perhaps you could test that rig. Marty |
