Patched SCSI Audio |

Greetings to all. Running a Powerbase G3 467mhz machine (Powerlogix) with a new SCSI-2 Nakamichi 5 CD 16x Changer. All disks mount and work correctly with OS X. However, Audio does NOT. Drive is reported as "type 5" under System Profiler. I have deleted the Patched Type 5 SCSI File and the Patched IO SCSI CD Extension files.. I don't know if this has anything to do with it. I cannot play audio through the drive, via the Audio cable or Digital playback through the SCSI Bus. Drive is capable of both under OS 9.1. iTunes just "moves down" to the next track, and it doesn't play anything. It continues to move down the track listing until it hits the bottom and stops. Importing imports nothing. Mac OS X Jaguar 10.2.3 also did this with my old NEC 8x Multispin SCSI drive (which also worked just fine in 9.1 w/iTunes).. Is there any way to fix this? |

It's probably a drive-specific issue--it must use a somewhat non-standard command set that Mac OS 9 will work with and Mac OS X won't. In theory, this ought to be solvable, by writing another patched driver--one would have to do some research on what command set this device supports. |

I will note that these extensions didn't load up in Jaguar anyways.. |
