I am getting a problem when installing OS X 10.1 on my PowerBook 3400/200. It gets as far as the OS X installer screen, but I'm unable to use my touchpad mouse or AGP mouse or keyboard to click the "Continue" button to carry on. I'm using xpostfacto version 2.2.5 I've got 20 gig IBM travelstar HD, 80 meg ram (but am going to upgrade this to 128 meg). Any other PowerBook 3400 folks out there? I've searched the forum up to a point, but I can't seem to find anyone else with a 3400. Thanks for any help. |

Thanks for your input. I've got a 128 meg memory module coming in the post. I would still like to see OS X on my laptop and make my own mind up if I want to keep it on my hard drive. |

I have a PB 3400/200 with 144MB ram and a 10G hard drive. I successfully installed 10.1 a while back but it didn't stay there long. OS X is just too slow on this computer. It's so slow that it's barely usable. The only pointers I can give you is max out the ram before you try to install. Also I don't know if the 8G rule applies to the 3400. I never experienced the clicking problem you described. I gave up on MacOS X on the 3400 and now only use it on my 9600. Instead I use linux on the 3400. -Jon |
