PowerPC 8500 PowerLogix G3/400/200/1MB 832MB RAM Any hopes for accelerated use of an ixMicro ix3D ultimateRez under OS X (10.2.4) ... or would you suggest moving on to a Radeon 7000 for Mac? and possibly wait for an update to the hack into Quartz Extreme, PCI Extreme? Have not tried it, but have heard Apple may have put up another challenge for older Macs ... |

Agreed, move to a PC Radeon 7000 with 32 or 64MB. It will be faster than the ixMicro cards will EVER be. |

I HAD to remove my ultimateRez when I upgraded to the Sonnet G4/700 for PCI machines. Everything booted up in shades of green only. With the Twin Turbo installed along side the ultimateRez, the 9500 wouldn't boot at all. So I popped in an OLD ati card and ordered the Radeon 7000 Mac Edition. After I paid my dues to get in the forum I read about PC Radeon flashing and bought a 64mb version which now controls my 19" monitor and the 32mb Mac Edition controls two 15" on the sides. If you do any graphics work you will NOT regret upgrading to the Radeon. I wouldn't hold your breath for any new drivers for the ultimateRez. My vote is: Move on to the Radeon. Tom Q. |
