PowerMac 7600/Sonnet G3/400 Mac OS 10.2.6 I have this odd problem only when surfing. Every time I go to my bookmarks folder and select any bookmark, my screen freezes as soon as I release the mouse button. This only happens in Netscape and Mozilla. All my other applications work fine. Any suggestions? Thanks |

Hi I removed the profiles but I am not quite sure what preferences should be removed; could you explain a little more where I can find them and how I can erase them? By the way, Camino has exactly the same problems. Thanks |

Go to the console (Applications/Utilites/Console) and see what it reports... If the machine is actually crashing (doubtful), you can also look at the crash log file for hints. Gregory ideas below are good too.. |

Remove the profiles and preferences they both use, create new profiles, then import your old bookmarks. They both share the same profiles I think. Often, with a more recent Mozilla trunk or build, it was necessary to do the above (happens in Camino also). You might want to check out Firebird which is web browser only rather than the all-in-one approach Mozilla has followed, and which will be replacing Mozilla. |
