HI! I have a 9500 with an InTech Speedtools-formatted internal 8gb SCSI that was succesfully bootin; I needed to boot the machine from a different system in order to clone the boot drive, however, with the intention of making the 9500 a mirrored backup of my primary machine. Doing so required reformatting the 8gb into two partitions and losing the good install. The machine boots successfully, if incompletely, from an external 1gb boot volume created with BootCD (although I'm tracking down a nother problem there). However, I cannot successfully engage the "install to" boot option with XpostFacto any longer. With the 10.2 disk 1 CD in the drive, I launch XPostFacto, and select the volume to install to; I can verify that the oldworld files are being installed as I can see them on the target volumes. When the machine rebots, it shows the grey Apple acreen, then drops into verbose and recounts it's tale. It always, always, always fails, having unsuccesfully attempted to integrate the oldworld extensions - specifically the IOSCSI extension - and after a time reliably hangs on a kernel panic. what to do? |
