My latest problem is that when I boot up X, I have sound. I keep sound as long as I don't tried to play a Quicktime movie or an Mp3. The sounds works for maybe 10 seconds then sputters, and finally dies all together. I'm thinking of choosing a SBLive! Mac Edition... Anyone tried that? I have 9500, 512 MB ram, radeon 7000, G4/800 upgrade. |

Right now, until some solid solution comes out to the lack of OS X drivers, and poor OS 9 drivers... avoid this card. Wait for the people who have owned this card and regretted it to report good things about Panther or an opensource driver before grabbing one, unless it is a freebie. |

Have an Audiomedia III card from ebay to run ProTools in my 9600. They are fairly cheap now a days. |

I have a 9500, G4, Radeon, 512 MB ram, SCSI, USB in top PCI slot, Radeon is second slot ( had to dremel the case in order to be able to hook up VGA card). Built in Video card in 3rd slot for if/when the Radeon acts flakey. Bus speed is 50Mhz. I have sound out unless I try to play a music file. No sound in. I'm running 10.2.8. Same problem when running 10.2.6. |

I still have my SBLive card. They don't work in OSX. There were reports at thinksecret.com that Apple was working on building-in support for the Audigy in Panther and basic I/O for the SBLive but I have not read anything on that since. There was also an opensource probject led by Bryan Sounder at Creative but I think that has died on the vine. There is a thread at the Inside Mac Games forums. I'm using an M-Audio Revolution 7.1 card for sound now. I have a Power Tower Pro, G4/800, ATA/100, Firewire/USB2.0, 10/100 Ethernet, Radeon Mac Edition 32MB. Sound-out has always worked on this machine but sound-in never did in OSX. |

HHMMM..... Haven't heard anything on this opne, I have an Audigy in my wintel machine love it. BTW, I also have a 9500, g4 800 radeon, scsi card, etc..... Where are your PCI cards?? I have no trouble with iTunes, mp3's, mpeg 1 sound or QT. Also, what is your bus speed, mine is 50mhz,what version of X you running?? I have 10.2.6 and 10.2.8(currently seeing if I want to keep it). Just trying to figure this one out since sound input is the ONE thing that I, and others, are trying to figure out why some machines get input, while others don't. |
