I find 10.2.8 to be too slow and perhaps buggy compared to 10.2.6 and I want to go back. Couldn't I just delete the system folder and kernel then do an archive install from the 10.2 cd? This would let me avoid reinstalling apps and users would it not? |

Seem like we covered this before;-0 Damn these forums. I got around to a test clean install of 10.2.8 on my 8600, my Siig USB2 card would not work right. I may try to remove the Apple USB support.kext's to see if that helps, but if they put it in Mach_Kernal there may be no fix. Panther could break us yet! |

No. That will not work. You could TRY running the 10.2 installer CD and choosing the "archive and install option, and then updating back to 10.2.6. Personally 10.2.8 works well for me on my PTP, so I wonder what is up for you... Have you tried reinstalling the 10.2.8 combo update and fixing permissions? Marty |
