It's worth pointing out that OSX 10.2 and higher only run on G3/G4 upgraded macs. 10.1.5 runs fine on older 604 based systems, like my server running a mighty dual 200Mhz card (one proc active). So yeah, 10.2 or 10.3(hopefully soon) would be better options IF YOU HAVE A g3/G4 upgraded mac. Marty |

Ryan HAS been busy, "I've been able to solve most of the issues related to Panther support on the 7300 - 9600 series." So skip all the 10.1 garbage and get the REAL OS X. |

Buy 10.2.3 Jaguar Install CD... and be eligible for Panther for $20, and forget 10.1.5. Also, a lot of stuff you want requires 10.2 or 10.2.4 at this point... 10.0 alpha 10.1 beta 10.2 "FC" or GM |

It's not an "updater" it's a full system installer. |

Not worth it in my opinion, ie going from 10.0 to 10.1. An updater shouldn't need XPF. |

get the 10.2 disk set, it is cheap right now and Jag is much better than 10.1 anyway. I have found that in my experience. If you cant install, you could try to clean the disk, check the lens on on the drive, etc. If you have have installed from that CD ROM previously, then you need to look at the disk itself. If you are running from a backup, odds are that is your trouble. |

Is it an original disk? If it's a copy it could be wacked... If it's a good disk you would be able to choose it from XPF as your installer. Marty |
