Hi, First question does XPostFacto 3.0a4 actually support installation of Panther 10.3 on the G3 Beige? Secondly, I have tried installing Panther on my ATA drive with a parition of less than 8GB, and also on a SCSI drive connected to a Adaptec 29160 and I get the exact same results. Just after it loads the "Launcher Crash Reporter" and outputs two lines to the screen - which I cannot read as it whizzes by too quickly - the screen then goes blank and nothing happens. I've tried leaving it for hours but it is dead. I can boot back into Mac OS9.2.2 again with no problems. Any ideas what I might need to do? Lastly, I've tried using the new forum, but my username and password does not work in there. Thanks, Kevin |

Ok, I should have noticed the small deatail that you haven't been able to get to the new forum ;-) On this forum the sign in required the @...com part of your email address. The new forum just uses your email name and drops the @....com part. I had the same issue myself and tried different combos tell I found this worked. |

Just a bit more reading and you would know the answer! Panther can not yet be ran on any old world Mac. Ryan hopes to have a new version of XPFacto out this week or so for Panther! You need to go back to the XPFacto download page and read everything available and pay attention to the details. Also this forum has moved to a new web page. So that's why your not getting a lot of replies ;-) |

Just a little bit of further info. I have also tried swapping out RAM modules which didn't work. I don't have an accelerator card installed, it's just the factory version of the G3 beige. No additional PCI cards installed, apart from the Adaptec, and I've tried the install without that card too. |
