My 8500/G3/200 on 10.1 works fine now, but wonder if I should upgrade XPF or the Cache Control Program ? My only problem has been getting to "Classic" mode.. Changes address problems, but not real clear on what problems might be related to my system(s) or other systems. I have a 9500/180 with 10.1 which works well, but same question. Perhaps a very "simple" Matrix could be created to indicate what versions apply to which system(s) and problem(s). This Matrix could reduce "problem" reports and the workload on our "Guru" :-) Neal ==== |

Upgrade before installing 10.2 |

At the moment, the answer would be to upgrade XPostFacto and L2CacheConfig before installing Mac OS X 10.2. My plan is to officially release version 2.2 of XPostFacto before the 24th--you might want to wait for the "final" version 2.2 if you're not in a hurry. In general, when I stop calling something "beta", it is at that point that I am suggesting that most people will likely want to upgrade. But the 2.2 beta period has been a little different, because some of the fixes have been pretty important to some people. And it has gone on for a while. Even when I declare 2.2 "done", it will not mean that all known problems have been fixed. It will just mean that we have reached a point of some stability. Thanks for the question--it is something that I need to give more thought to. |
