Sound Output Problems |

Hi, I was wandering if anyone has encountered any problems with their onboard sound? I just recently downloaded xpost 2.2 per the instructions, I reinstalled the extensions from os 10.1.5. When I restarted this morning, my computer was running really slow, so I checked the L2 Cache and the enable box was unchecked, however I had taken cared of this problem since I installed xpost some time ago. Did reinstalling the extensions somehow change my L2 settings? Anyhow, back to the sound, the sound is very intermittent. I usually have to reboot the computer to get sound back and ever since I used xpost 2.2, my sound problems seemed to have gotten worse. When I am using real player to listen to stations or play a cd when the sound is working, there is very little sound problem, however, if I open one other application, the sound starts to come and go. My system is: PowerMac 8500 with Sonnet G3/500 upgrade-416 Meg Ram Just looking for a little input. Thanks, Jack |

Reinstalling the extensions should not have affected your L2 cache settings. Do you find that the 'enable' checkbox sticks now? One thing that sometimes causes stuttering sound is the use of IDE cards and drives. Other than that, I'm not sure what it would be likely to be. |
