Couple of continuing issues... 1.When 1 try to boot from the 7.8 Gig volume (0S 10.2) on the 40gig drive attached to my Tempo ATA100 card, most (but not all) of the time I get a "diskOs4(or 3,depending on which ATA channel the drive is connected to) Ox8 [UNDEFINED]" and eventually quits. 2. I installed 10.2 to an external 9gigSCSI drive( now running as an internal drive on the internal SCSI bus )and it usually boots correctly ;however, if I have my Firewire camera plugged in the OS wiil not recognize my Firewire drives;if I plug in the camera while Imovie is open ,I get the "spinning beachball", Imovie crashes, and I can't access the Firewire drives as long as the camera is connected (Adaptec Fireconnect 4300 PCI OHCI compliant firewire card). I saw another post that seemed to indicate others may be having some similar problems with 9500's and 10.2.. any suggestions/comments? I may try the Sonnet PCI 10.2 installer and do a reinstall to my ATA drive just to see if that helps (the Sonnet installer didn't work and XPF did for OS 10.0 or 10.1,but maybe they've fixed some bugs since then).. BTW,I'd like to thank Ryan/XPF for letting me install the previous flavors of OS X ...they have all run stably on the ATA drive, and all saw my Firewire drives/camera without issue.. any suggestions would be welcome... I haven't seen the [UNDEFINED] error message before--I'm not sure what that means, unfortunately. One thing you might try is moving PCI cards to different slots--that sometimes makes a difference, especially on 6-slot Macs with a G4 upgrade card. |
