After perusing the Apple MacOSX Installation and Setup discussion group, I no longer feel alone in my failure to get my ATA100 connected OSX disk to boot..this seems to be an issue on many flavors of "supported"machines as well..there was an additional thread on the XLR8Your Mac site about the ATA100 problems in which a Sonnet techie admitted that they had found a boot compatibility issue between the ATA100(Promise chipset only, apparently)and the Golden Master version 0f 10.2 that had not previously existed.. There were also a fair number of posts on the Apple site about Firewire connectivity issues of the same sort I've been having, these also on "supported" machines .. So apparently this is not (not that I thought it was) an XPF issue, but a Sonnet/10.2 issue..hopefully,there'll be a driver patch /maintenance OS release that will address these problems(at least for the fortunate "supported": ) |
