OSX Guru: If I install OSX with xPostFacto on a PCI 7500, can I move the whole SCSI hard disk over to an 8500 and expect it to boot and function optimally? Or is it important to install on and boot the same machine, even within this PCI family? Thanks. |

Just make sure the drive is set to a unique SCSI ID on the new system.... Then fire up Xpostfacto from OS0 and select the transferred drive to be startup. |

Yes, you can move it and it will be fine. For the most part, Mac OS X installations are pretty much the same no which machines they are running on. Sometimes your preferences and settings will need a little adjustment, but even that should be fairly minimal when moving from a 7500 to an 8500 (depending on which PCI cards are installed etc.). |
